St. Elias Car Blessing.
Cars will be blessed Tuesday, July 20th after the 10:00 AM Divine Liturgy and next Sunday, July 25th after both Divine Liturgies to commemorate the feast of St. Elias. The annual blessing gives witness to St. Elias' ascension into heaven by a fiery chariot in a whirlwind. We remember St. Elias now, for at the Transfiguration of Our Lord (August 6th) St. Elias along with Moses, appeared speaking with Our Lord. The prophet Malachi (3:23) says that Elias will come to announce the Day of the Lord.
